Marqam — Support

Make a QR code, put it on a photo, read anything back.

My code will not scan

Four things cause almost every failure: the margin around the code was trimmed, the code is darker than its background inverted, it was printed smaller than about 2 cm, or a logo is covering too much of it. The Tips tab in the app walks through all of them.

The camera does not open

Go to Settings → Marqam and turn on Camera. Marqam only uses it while the Scan tab is open, and never records anything.

My saved codes are not on my other device

iCloud sync is off until you turn it on in More → iCloud sync, and it needs the one-time support purchase. Both devices must be signed into the same Apple Account. Centre logos are deliberately not synced — they stay on the device they were chosen on.

I paid but sync is still off

Tap “Restore purchase” in the More tab. If it still does not appear, make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with.

Does scanning a barcode show me the price?

No. Marqam reads the number, checks its check digit and tells you which GS1 organisation registered the prefix — all on the device. “Search the web” opens your browser with the number; that is the only thing Marqam ever sends anywhere, and only when you tap it.
